One of my favorite looks for the fall and winter is Houndstooth. Classic and preppy these are the perfect pieces to add to your wardrobe. According to Wikipedia, Houndstooth checks originated in woven wool cloth of the Scottish Lowlands. Gotta love anything that can hold its own for so long!

Hello! It’s been quite sometime since I have posted anything. I have spent the last month busier than I can ever remember being. Ever. I have been working six days a week all while trying to prepare for the holiday. It’s a little late, but I just had to wish everyone a belated Merry Christmas!
I have been loving my new job, and cannot wait until I can officially transition into full-time work at the farm. Balancing two jobs is pretty exhausting, on top of part-time catering, custom jewelry making and a wedding to coordinate on New Years Eve. I pretty much work, eat and sleep.

With my hectic schedule I didn’t do all the holiday prep I usually do in terms of baking and also didn’t get a chance to host my annual trunk show. I still haven’t sent the gifts to my friends that live afar and am a bit mortified to send Christmas gifts in January, but better late than never I guess.
Despite the crazy in my life, I had the loveliest of holidays with my family and hope you did too. I had two days in a row off, which was the best Christmas gift I could have asked for. Mostly I enjoyed catching up with my brothers, laughing and eating delicious food.
Did you notice the picture of my Paperwhites in bloom? That really made my Christmas.

I would be the happiest girl in the world if I lived in a greenhouse. In terms of decorating I am slighty obsessed with bringing the outdoors in, and of course the indoors out. I could truly get the best of both worlds if my bedroom was the image above, or below. Of course I might have to move south for this one, but I am in love with the idea of sleeping under the stars every night and rising with the sun every morning.

Notice the chandelier? Talk about shabby chic!

As a child I was fascinated with everything fabulous most especially my mother’s jewelry and high heels. I spent hours as many little girls do playing in my mom’s makeup and raiding her closet to find the perfect accessories. I am not sure I even knew what I was doing, but I loved the idea of how fabulous the combination of all these things made me feel. I felt so glamorous and have been obsessed with accessorizing ever since. Today I introduce to you my hand-crafted jewelry collection!

As an art student I had the opportunity to travel abroad and attend a metalsmithing school in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. I have been creating jewelry ever since. My pieces are laid back, yet sophisticated – glamour and elegance with a twist of the natural and organic.
The collection embodies perfectly imperfect one-of-a-kind pieces using sterling silver, gold-fill, semi-precious stones and found objects. Each piece offers women an organic simplicity that combines indulgence and wearability.
I can’t help collecting stones and shells and interesting ephemera when I travel. The stones and shells I collect from any and everywhere – some are vintage, most are from my travels around the world and the rest from gem shows.
The pieces make for great bridal jewelry and bridesmaids too!
My California childhood most definitely set the stage for all the designs I create. The sunshine and inspiring landscapes of rolling hills, majestic oak trees, and expansive views of the Pacific ocean instilled in me a love of beauty. I am incredibly inspired by beauty in every form- trees, a well-baked cake, traveling, antique shops, tribal jewelry, nature, gardening, and fresh flowers – all of these things touch my heart. I have the ability of finding beauty in just about everything around me.

I never knew how much I loved bows until I worked in bridal. I think they are super sweet, feminine and fun. I used to think that you could only get away with bows until the age of 8, but as it turns out ladies of any age can rock them.

I hope you have a wonderful week!

Mirrored walls used to seem so dated to me, but I have seen a resurgence of mirrored walls that are very elegant. Mirrors really open up a space and reflect the light, which makes small spaces feel much larger and dark spaces feel much brighter.

How chic are these mirrored tiles?

I love this dining room with its antique mirrored ceiling tiles. Did you also notice the amazing chandelier?

These mirrored cabinet doors in the kitchen are insanely fabulous.

I spent the day yesterday starting to get the house ready for Christmas. I stopped by Cornell Farm and found the most perfect tree, wreath, garland and winter bulbs. By the way, Cornell Farms delivers and does the set up too, it’s called the “marriage saver” package! It made getting the tree and setting it up a breeze.
The greenhouse at Cornell Farm is just spectacular! There really is something for eveyone there.
These are my favorite winter bulbs, Paperwhite Narcissus. Can you see my gorgeous Noble Fir in the background? The Paperwhites smell amazing when in bloom, not to mention how amazing the house smells already with the tree. Love it.
Freezing Fog didn’t hold me back, although it made hanging the garland less enjoyable. It was seriously cold in the forest yesterday, but still so beautiful.
Here is my garland. I believe in only using live garland! It will need some finishing touches, I am thinking gold ribbon.
I can’t forget my new Red Lion Amaryllis. It should be another few weeks until it blooms and I cannot wait, perfect timing for Christmas.
If you need another reason to stop by the lovely Cornell Farm this might entice you. The farm has picked up my baked goods for the holidays! My line is called Delectable and is indeed just that. You can find Vanilla Caramels, Marshmallows, English Toffee and much more!

Modern furniture makers in the 1960s and 1970s sought to give their products a “space age aesthetic”. They incorporated Lucite products into their designs, most especially office chairs. Lucite furniture is a great trend now, and is one of my favorite looks for the interior. I love using it in small doses, just a piece or two a room. I find it to be so versatile and chic.

This entryway table is perfection.

These are some super cute stools for the kitchen, they go quite well with the clean, crisp lines of the room.

A lovely little Lucite tray to organize all your beauty products.
